Apache Sage is also known as Mimbres Valley Picutre Rhyolite. It comes from
a small deposit in the Mimbres Valley, northeast of Demming, New Mexico.
Apache Sage has a fantastic dendritic pattern and a background of colorful
swirls that looks like sagebrush or trees against a sweeping sky. Rhyolite
is of volcanic origin. It polishes well with diamond, tin oxide, or cerium
oxide. MOHs hardness is 5.5 to 6.
